Frequently asked questions
Written for people who sell property, not for people who build software. If something here still doesn't make sense, email support@dlightms.com and we'll rewrite it.
The basics
What does DLight Ad Studio actually do?
You fill in one form about a project — the name, the developer, the price, the payment plan, a headline, and you add a few photos and your logo. The app then produces finished ad designs from it: not one design, but every sensible combination of design style, colour scheme, sales angle, language and size. You download them and hand them to whoever runs your ads.
Do I need to know design software?
No. There is nothing to draw and nothing to align. You type text and pick options from a list. The layout, spacing, Arabic typography and logo placement are handled for you and come out the same every time.
Is this AI that draws the ads?
No, and that's deliberate. The ads are built from precise templates, so a price is always the exact price you typed and a logo is always in exactly the right place. AI is used only for optional helpers: drafting text, suggesting colours, and stretching a photo to fit a taller or wider shape.
Making your first set of ads
How do I go from nothing to finished ads?
- Create a campaign and open the Brief tab. Fill in the project, developer, headline, price, payment plan and call to action — there are English and Arabic columns side by side. Upload one or two property photos and your logo.
- Watch the preview. A live preview updates as you type, so you can see the ad take shape before committing to anything.
- Go to the Generate tab and tick what you want: which layouts, which colour palettes, which copy angles, which languages, which sizes, which photos. A counter at the bottom shows how many ads that adds up to.
- Press Generate. The designs render in the background and appear in the Variants tab as they finish.
- Pick the winners, download them, or send a link to your client for approval.
Can the app fill the brief in for me?
Yes. Paste the developer's WhatsApp blast or brochure text and press Auto-fill brief, and it drafts both the English and the Arabic. It also drafts from a reference image. Always read what it wrote before generating. It never invents a price or a payment plan on its own, but it can still get wording wrong, and the ad goes out under your name.
The vocabulary, explained
What is a "variant"?
One finished ad file. If you pick 2 layouts, 2 palettes, 2 copy angles, 2 languages and 3 sizes, that is 2×2×2×2×3 = 48 variants — 48 separate images, each a different combination. The point is to give your media buyer plenty to test rather than one design to guess with. Watch the counter: options multiply fast.
What is a "layout"?
The arrangement of the ad — where the headline sits, whether the photo fills the frame or sits in a panel, where the price pill goes. Several are built in. You can also build your own in the Layout Studio and it becomes selectable like the rest.
What is a "palette"?
The set of colours used for the text, the price highlight, the button and the dark overlay on the photo. Six presets ship with the app (Classic Dark, Light Airy, Gold Luxury, Bold Contrast, Ocean, Warm Sand). You can save your own brand colours as a palette and reuse it on every campaign, or ask the app to suggest colours that suit a specific photo.
What is a "copy angle"?
The selling argument the headline leads with — price, payment plan, location, lifestyle, or urgency — or your own custom wording. Same project, different hook. This is usually the cheapest thing to test.
What is a "run"?
One press of Generate. Each run is kept separately, so you can generate a batch, change your mind, generate another, and still compare the two.
Languages and formats
How does the Arabic version work?
Arabic isn't an afterthought or a machine translation of the English at render time — the brief has its own Arabic fields that you write or have drafted for you. When you tick Arabic, the ad is rebuilt right-to-left with the correct text direction and Arabic numerals. You can generate English only, Arabic only, or both.
What sizes do I get, and where do they go?
- 9:16 (Story) — 1080×1920. Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels.
- 1:1 (Square) — 1080×1080. The classic feed post.
- 4:5 (Portrait) — 1080×1350. Takes more vertical space in the feed; usually the best-performing feed size.
The preview can show a safe-zone overlay marking the strips the platform covers with its own buttons and username, so nothing important gets hidden. That overlay is a guide only — it is never baked into the exported file.
Can I get a PDF?
Yes. Alongside downloading the images, you can export a multi-page PDF of the set — useful for sending to a developer or printing for a meeting.
Sharing and approval
How do I get a client to approve a set?
In the Variants tab, use Share for review. You get a link you can copy or send straight to WhatsApp. Your client opens it in any browser — no account, no password, no app to install — sees the designs, and taps approve or request changes, with a comment box for the changes. Their answers appear back in your workspace.
Can I turn a review link off?
Yes — revoke it and it stops working immediately. Feedback already submitted stays visible to you.
What does starring a variant do?
It marks your shortlist so you can filter down to the ones you actually want to use. It is for you; it doesn't change the file.
Trial, billing and limits
How does the free trial work?
New workspaces get a free trial — 14 days as things stand — with no card required. You can create campaigns and generate ads normally during it.
What happens when the trial ends?
Creating and editing campaigns is locked until you subscribe. Nothing is deleted. Your campaigns, photos and generated ads are still there, and unlock again as soon as you subscribe.
What is the campaign cap?
Each paid plan allows a certain number of new campaigns per billing period — Pro allows more than Starter. You'll see the exact number if you hit it; contact support if you want to know your current limit beforehand. Hitting the cap only stops you creating newcampaigns; existing ones keep working, and the allowance resets each period. Generating more variants inside a campaign you already created does not count against it.
How do I pay, and how do I cancel?
Payment goes through Stripe, so your card details never sit on our servers. Cancelling is self-serve: open the Stripe billing portal from inside the app and cancel there. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Invoices and card changes live in the same portal.
What if a payment fails?
Campaign creation and editing lock until the payment is fixed. Update your card in the billing portal and access returns. Again, nothing is deleted.
Ownership and responsibility
Who owns the ads the app makes?
You do. Your briefs, your photos, your logos and the finished creatives are yours, and you can use them commercially — including selling the work to your own clients. We claim no ownership and we do not show your work to other customers. The full wording is in the Terms of Service.
Am I allowed to upload a developer's logo and renders?
Only if you have the right to use them. That is your call and your responsibility, not ours — we have no way of knowing what a developer has authorised you to publish. The same applies to brochure photography and stock images.
Is AI-written copy safe to publish as-is?
Treat it as a first draft from a junior copywriter. It can produce wording similar to someone else's, and it can get a detail wrong. Check every number — price, payment plan, area, delivery date — before anything goes live. Once you publish it, it is your ad.
When something goes wrong
An AI feature says it's unavailable. What now?
The AI helpers depend on outside providers and can be temporarily switched off, rate-limited or down. When that happens, everything else still works: the core design generation is not AI and does not depend on them. Write or paste the copy yourself, choose a preset palette instead of a suggested one, and generate as normal. If it stays unavailable for more than a few hours, email us.
Some variants failed to render.
Use Retry failed on the run — it re-renders only the ones that didn't come out, not the whole batch.
Will I lose work if my browser closes?
No. Your work saves automatically as you go, so reopening the campaign picks up where you left off.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes, the app works on a phone. Filling in a long brief and comparing dozens of variants is genuinely more comfortable on a laptop, but reviewing and sharing is fine on mobile — and your client only ever needs a phone.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@dlightms.com from your account address and we will do it. There is no self-serve delete button today — the Privacy Policy explains exactly what deletion covers.
